I'm the new guy!

Postby Dr. Stu » Wed Oct 05, 2011 8:49 pm

Hey I've been waiting for EV to get back on its feet and now that it is I can join. My user name is Dr. Stu because the guys I work with think I look like Stu from the hangover. So I got the nickname and it stuck. My real name is Brian Trenton and a few of you already know who I am. I wanted to join EV because about four months ago now I got a job working at Ganley Bedford VW as a tech. I am looking to get into a VW soon. Right now my daily driver is a 04 saturn ion thats got a short ram intake and a catback exhaust. My project and what got me really into cars is my 92 plymouth laser rs awd 2.0T. I have it up for sale on dsmtuners and vortex for trade for a mk3 or mk4. if its mk3 definitely gotta be vr6 but if I get a mk4 it could be vr6 or 1.8t. I would really like to have a brand new beetle 2.0TSI but people in hell want ice water too. I'm glad EV is back up and I hope to get a VW soon and start making meets. I will be at fatman's headlands invasion in my Laser. I was there last year and I hope this year is a good time too! Alright this intro is long enough.

1. I have an ex-roomie that is a DSM nut, and I've helped him install many a performance part on his TSi
2. That's sorta my plan too, only hell for me is my job.

Saw the new Bettle at H20...I was VERY impressed. It looks SOOOOO much better than the previous one. I would actually consider owning one!

yea i have been prepping alot of 2012 beetles at work and they are really cool. I am still waiting for one to show up with the accessory gauge cluster in the center of the dash with a boost gauge, oil temp, and clock. I really like the ones with the classic wheels in 17s. has a chrome beauty ring and then the big chrome VW center cap.

this is something we mocked up at work today:

I'll try to get on that. The laser has stuff to look at. The saturn really doesnt have anything impressive to look at. I posted it for sale on these forums and all my mods are listed there. There is also a current pic on there too.

Thanks for the welcome!

Yea its a bit crazy. I know what I am doing and I learn more everyday. We had a guy get hired like a month ago, worked for 3 days and quit and all he did was bitch about how much he didnt like VWs and how he liked working on chevys.

Jeff idk who you worked for but Nick is my team leader and I work on that side of the shop with him, ryan, and chris. Everyone is cool but sometimes it gets hectic. And thats all I can say be cause I like it there its much better then where I worked (ESS automotive in mentor, oh. Do not go there its a [Moderator Removed] hole, my 3rd to last paycheck bounced) And they know who Stu is so I can't badmouth. I enjoy working on VWs so its what keeps me going. I hope to own a mk3 vr6 or mk4 vr6 or 1.8t here soon. I think 12v vr6 is probably the best option.
